The Mercantile

Un-Built | Torrey, Utah

Set within the red rock setting of Torrey, Utah, this adaptive reuse project transforms an existing structure into a rural modern mercantile and community hub. A grocery co op anchors the space alongside dining, retail, and essential services, all opening to shared courtyards and gardens. By layering new uses onto the original framework, the project reimagines the building as a place for gathering, learning, and everyday life, shaped by local culture, climate, and craft.
