Healdsburg House

Healdsburg, California

Design Challenge:

To remodel a distinctive mid-century home, honoring its original design while incorporating modern tools, materials, and colors—imagining how they might have been used during the home's original construction.

Physical Context:

Tucked away in a classic Victorian neighborhood in Healdsburg, California, the home sits back from the access road, creating a sense of privacy and seclusion within this vibrant, northern California town.

Solution:

The interior was thoughtfully opened up to create uninterrupted sight-lines from one end of the home to the other, enhancing flow and connectivity. Large sliding glass doors were introduced to strengthen the indoor-outdoor living experience, seamlessly connecting the interior to the backyard courtyard and pool, a hallmark of mid-century modern living.
